2025/26: A Year of Creativity

The Creative Arts are a vibrant and visible part of life at The Croft. Throughout the year, pupils have performed, exhibited, collaborated and contributed to projects that have enriched both their learning and the wider community. The following highlights offer a snapshot of a memorable year in the arts.

Performance and Production

A standout moment of the year was our Year 6 production of Fantastic Mr Fox. Working alongside The Orchard Band and choreographer Ellie from Atomic Dance, pupils transformed our theatre into the world of Boggis, Bunce and Bean, delivering a performance filled with energy, humour and confidence. The production showcased not only talent on stage but also creativity behind the scenes, with pupils contributing to props, costumes, artwork and technical elements. Above all, it demonstrated the confidence, teamwork and resilience that lie at the heart of creative learning.

Partnerships and Collaboration

Pupils benefited from a wide range of partnerships with schools, artists and arts organisations throughout the year. Year 5 attended a performance of Our House at Princethorpe School, while collaborations with Bloxham School included a strings and brass workshop culminating in a joint performance for parents. Faculty Day brought pupils together with visiting artists and practitioners, while ongoing partnerships with organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, Orchestra of the Swan, CBSO and Young Voices provided further opportunities for inspiration and creative growth.

Creativity in Action

The Croft's commitment to the arts extends well beyond school productions. This year, pupils participated in community events, exhibitions and charitable initiatives that connected their creativity with the wider world. Highlights included the Roderick Williams Charity Concert, organised in partnership with Lowland Rescue and raising almost £8,000 for charity and participation in The Big Christmas Chorus with Classic FM. Pupils' artwork was also showcased through local exhibitions and competitions, celebrating the breadth of artistic talent across the school.
