Ongoing Strong Progress & Attainment

Pupils Meeting Expectations or Exceeding

We are delighted to report that last year (2024-25) our students made excellent progress in English and Maths, demonstrating significant growth and the impact of our supportive learning environment.

While our pupils make strong progress across the school, Year 6 have also achieved remarkable results in a range of academic, creative and extracurricular areas.

Outstanding Academic Success – 57% of Year 6 pupils who took the 11+ exam secured Grammar School places, with multiple academic scholarships awarded.

Excellence Across Disciplines – Students thrive in music, art, drama, sport and performing arts, earning scholarships, exhibitions and all-round awards, including the prestigious Griffin Award for exceptional all-round achievement.

Celebrating Leadership and Talent – Individual accolades such as the Headmaster’s Award highlight the school’s focus on nurturing exceptional achievement and personal development.

Developing Future Leaders – Many of our pupils progress to positions of responsibility and leadership in their secondary schools, demonstrating strengths that extend well beyond academic achievement. They are frequently appointed to roles such as head girl, head boy and prefect, reflecting their character, maturity and commitment to contributing positively to school communities. Receiving schools regularly remark on these qualities. As one teacher at a local grammar school observed, “It is always easy to identify pupils who have come from The Croft – they are distinguished by their quiet confidence, exemplary manners and steadfast approach to learning.” This endorsement underscores our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are equipped to lead, support others and flourish in the next stage of their education.
