Values in Action
Our Core Values are not simply words on a page; they are woven into everyday life at The Croft. They are reflected in our lessons, performances, sporting fixtures, leadership opportunities, trips, celebrations and relationships. Together, they help create a happy, ambitious and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to flourish.
Friendship & Trust
We are trustworthy and honest to create strong friendships.
The Croft is a warm, close-knit community where every child is known and valued. Our small class sizes and family atmosphere help children build positive relationships based on kindness, honesty and mutual support. Strong partnerships between pupils, staff, parents and alumni create a genuine sense of belonging that lasts long after children leave the school.
Respect
We are kind and respectful to everyone and look after our school environment.
Respect underpins daily life at The Croft. Pupils learn the importance of kindness, responsibility and consideration for others through assemblies, PSHE lessons, Form Time and the wider curriculum. By taking ownership of our Core Values, children develop an understanding of their role within both the school community and the wider world.
Resilience
We use a positive approach when things are challenging; we never give up.
We encourage children to embrace challenges with confidence and determination. Whether performing on stage, competing in sport, taking examinations, participating in residential trips or tackling new learning experiences, pupils learn that perseverance, courage and a positive attitude help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Growth Mindset
We believe that we can grow our talents and abilities through hard work, perseverance and learning from our mistakes.
Every child is encouraged to discover new interests, develop existing strengths and challenge themselves to try something different. Through our broad curriculum and extensive programme of extracurricular activities, pupils learn that success comes from effort, practice and a willingness to keep learning.
Creativity
We use our imagination to solve problems in new and exciting ways.
Creativity is celebrated throughout school life. From art, music and drama to outdoor learning and problem-solving activities, pupils are encouraged to think independently, explore new ideas and express themselves with confidence. Our extensive grounds and specialist facilities provide endless opportunities for imagination, exploration and discovery.
Excellence
We always give our very best to achieve excellence in everything that we do.
At The Croft, excellence is about fulfilling individual potential. Through an innovative curriculum, specialist teaching and high expectations, we inspire pupils to strive for their personal best in all areas of school life. We nurture a lifelong love of learning, encourage independence and prepare children for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
