History in our Pre-Prep Department is taught in a fun and interactive style, and is linked to our programme of 'topics' for each Term.
Various types of evidence are studied, which includes visual, oral, physical and written.
The children in Year 1 look at timelines, and the way homes, toys and farming have changed over the past 100 years. In Year 2, children study the history of the seaside and holidays, the Victorians and famous people.
Our school trips for the children may be based around the topics. Year 1, for example, visit a farm in the Summer Term, and the Year 2 children visit the Black Country Living Museum, and have a visit to school from a company who perform and talk about traditional Punch and Judy Shows.
