Year One have learnt a playground clapping game: “Tiens, voilà, main droite, main gauche”.
Year 1 perform the finger rhyme “Dans la forêt noire”.
Children in Key Stage One have a French lesson each week in which they build on the confidence they have developed in Early Years. Children are taught new language through actions, games, finger rhymes and songs. The emphasis is on speaking and listening. The use of puppets, a variety of activities and games played in pairs or small groups means that the focus is always on having fun whilst learning new language.
