Headmaster's Welcome

Welcome to a different type of school!

The School’s mission is to provide each child with academic challenge and the opportunity to succeed and develop a sense of self-worth, whilst nurturing a lifelong love of learning in a happy and secure environment.

Is this not what every School aims to achieve? What is unique about The Croft is how we go about it!

Creating the rounded individual is something that many schools pride themselves upon, and The Croft is no exception; the main difference is how we achieve this.  Here, every child is educated as an individual, and fully supported, to challenge themselves to fulfil their potential, adopting a Growth Mindset along the way.  All of this is achieved through a wonderfully compassionate and motivational Staff, who deliver the highest standards of pastoral care and academic excellence.

Learning should be an Adventure, a voyage of discovery. Our pupils are given the opportunity to experience the sense of Achievement, whilst learning that setbacks and challenges along the way are an integral part of the process. They develop an awareness and understanding of Resilience, the need to continue, despite not finding a situation easy, stepping outside one’s comfort zone.

Our pupils learn the importance of Respect though a strong PSHE programme and show incredible Friendship and Trust to all members of the school community. The children are kind, thoughtful and supportive of their peers in everything we do, built on a strong foundation of spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.

A faculty structure of subject areas enable pupils to use their Creativity to extend their learning, challenging themselves and thinking ‘outside of the box’. These faculties lie at the heart of the unique forward thinking curriculum enabling opportunities in the Creative Arts, Emotional and Physical Development, Humanities, Languages and STEM. The all-encompassing experience helps pupils to achieve their lifetime goals with confidence and enthusiasm, becoming independent learners and embracing the challenges that pupils of today will face tomorrow.

For many of you, this website will be your first experience of The Croft, and whilst we have tried to illustrate the diversity, opportunity for challenge, supportive and caring ethos that the school prides itself upon, there is nothing like visiting and sampling the unique, welcoming and warm atmosphere for yourself.

I would like to extend a personal invitation to you all to come and experience life at The Croft.
