Inspection Reports

We are delighted to write about the outcome of the two ISI Inspections which took place during the Summer Term 2009. The combined Report is something to celebrate, not only because of its fulsome praise of the School, but also because it validates the trust which parents have placed in us to provide the best start possible to their child’s education.
ISI inspected the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery, Nursery Plus, Pre-Reception & Reception) at the end of May 2009, and reported the EYFS provision outstanding. The Inspectors also commended the outstanding personal development and well-being of every child: that they are extremely articulate; very considerate towards each other; display exemplary behaviour; and have very strong numeracy and ICT skills. The Inspectors praised the stimulating and dynamic environment in which Staff provide exceptional support to the children's learning. They also found leadership and management outstanding.
In early June 2009, another ISI Team inspected Pre-Prep and Prep and their praise was no less effusive. They commented that after the splendid start in EYFS this quality continues through the school so that pupils reach standards that are high in relation to their abilities
. The Inspectors commended the outstanding range of educational experiences offered, and reported that the children's achievements come not only in academic subjects but in a range of sporting, musical and other activities. Pupils owe their success to their excellent relationships and their highly positive learning attitudes
; Pastoral care is outstanding
. The Report concludes that the success of The Croft is due to the dedicated guidance of the proprietor, outstanding leadership of the headmistress, and the warm and caring approach of all staff, whatever their role in the School.
