Inspection Reports

Pupils, parents and staff are celebrating after the Early Years provision of the School was, yet again, rated Outstanding by the Independent Schools' Inspectorate (ISI).

The Croft was inspected over two days during the Summer Term 2012, by a team of two inspectors, declaring the provision to be outstanding in all four areas inspected: outstanding overall effectiveness, outstanding leadership and management, outstanding quality of learning, development and welfare provision, and outstanding outcomes for all children, including those under the age of three.

The Croft's Early Years provision, which caters for children from two to five years, was acknowledged for its experienced, caring staff, who ensure that all children's needs are met. As a result, children achieve well, with most children exceeding the Early Learning Goals in all areas of learning by the end of Reception. They applauded The Croft's robust safeguarding, health and well-being policies and procedures, and the promotion of equality and inclusion. Parents were recognised as being highly supportive of the School, with acknowledgement that they are kept well informed by the School, and are increasingly involved in their children's learning.

In early June 2009, another ISI Team inspected Pre-Prep and Prep and their praise was no less effusive. They commented that after the splendid start in EYFS, this quality continues through the school so that pupils reach standards that are high in relation to their abilities. The Inspectors commended the outstanding range of educational experiences offered, and reported that the children's achievements come not only in academic subjects but in a range of sporting, musical and other activities. Pupils owe their success to their excellent relationships and their highly positive learning attitudes; Pastoral Care is outstanding. The Report concludes that the success of The Croft is due to the dedicated guidance of the Proprietor, outstanding leadership, and the warm and caring approach of all staff, whatever their role in the School.
