Chinese New Year

Chinese_NY_2012_016

As usual, The Croft celebrated Chinese New Year in style, with Cheongsam, Quipao and Lai See in rich abundance. Challenge Club began the day with a lively Assembly performed to pupils in Years 1 - 6, including audience participation, dramatic tales and fortune telling.

Lunch - Spring Rolls with Sweet and Sour Sauce, Rice, Oriental Vegetables, Prawn Crackers, Mandarin Jelly with Green Tea and Lotus Flower, and Fortune Cookies - provided by our fabulous Catering Team, in a Dining Room colourfully decorated with red and gold garlands, and essential dragons, was enjoyed by all. Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Changes of scene were quickly effected with Burns' Night Menu the next day - the children loved their Haggis Tasting! - and Australia Day the day after. Children were happily delayed going out to play after Lunch, by their ingenious dessert, 'Build Your Own' Australian Meringue Man!
