Thursday 6 March. World Book Day in Pre-Prep this year, will see all the children participating in book-related activities: older children will be reading with younger children; teachers will be revealing their favourite books; books will be made and written; instant stories will be told with the use of story cubes; bookmarks will be made; and children will be choosing books for others to read during their Library lessons that week. We would also like the children to dress as characters from books to add to the fun of the day.
Friday 7 March. Our celebration of books this year includes dressing up, listening to a storyteller/author and reading lots of books, of course! Author, Cat Weatherill, will come and share her wonderful stories with all pupils from Year 3 to Year 6. Have a sneak preview at www.catweatherill.co.uk. Our theme for dressing up that day will be 'Anything Shakespeare'. Costumes can relate to any character or creature mentioned in a Shakespeare play, including kings, princes, queens, princesses, clowns, ghosts, witches, twins, a cat, a bear, a wall or even Shakespeare himself!
