At the end of the summer term, we will wave goodbye to our Year 6 pupils who are about to embark on the next stage of their education. It is a bittersweet moment in the academic year; many of the pupils will have joined The Croft in Nursery or Little Crofters Pre-school - the school will have known the children and their families for a long time and vice versa. It is a privilege to watch the children grow and flourish, to become enthusiastic and confident 11 year olds; we will miss their bright and energetic personalities. The upside and joy is knowing that the pupils are more than ready for the next stage of their education and that The Croft has done its best in preparing them, academically and socially.
Year 6 has worked hard and achieved well, with an impressive 18 scholarships and 16 grammar school places offered. Over the last 4 years, 114 scholarships and 65 grammar school places have been offered to our pupils, from over 20 different schools, both local and national. Providing academic challenge and the opportunity to succeed are key to a successful school; equally important is creating the rounded individual. The Croft excels at inspiring and nurturing pupils’ curiosity throughout their formative years, embedding a lifelong love of learning, whilst enjoying an amazing adventure through childhood.
Wherever our Year 6 pupils’ paths may take them, we wish them all the very best and a reminder of a quote from Albert Einstein - ‘The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing’.
