The French trip is a great opportunity for you to widen your French vocabulary, experience being away from your parents and bind new friendships with the people in the year. On the French trip we get lots of opportunities, from milking a goat, to making bread. At the chateau we did many activities, such as team building and aero ball. Handling money in the markets gave us a sense of awareness of how to spend money in the right way.
On the first day we went to Mont Saint Michael, an old Abbey, which we explored. The next day, after spending the day at the chateau, we went to a crêperie where we had crêpes for savoury and pudding. The day after, we went to the markets where we were able to get an over-priced stuffed toy (which for some reason, the boys seemed to want) and gifts for our family. We also went to a goats’ farm where we met a kid (a baby goat!) Other things we did include going to the aquarium and the Bayeux Tapestry. How we managed to fit this all in, we don’t know!
The whole of Year 6 would like to thank Madame, Mr Bixley, Mrs Hawkesford and Mr Thornton, for managing to put up with us for the entire week.
