That's the way we do it!
As part of the unit on puppets, 2GB has been working with clay to produce the head for a glove puppet. With the help of our resident expert on pottery - Mrs Lewis – the children learnt how to work the clay. They were shown how to make two halves of a hollow sphere; how to use 'slip' to attach them and apply all the features. The children were able to choose their character. They learned the heads would now be put into the kiln, so they had to be certain that everything was stuck on very well or it would fall off when it was fired. All this happened before half term. After the holiday, the children used glaze to paint the heads and make the 'glove' using material and various things to embellish it. They are all looking forward to using their puppets to produce a show for you all!
