Once again, The Croft has been selected to appear in the prestigious ‘Tatler Schools Guide’. The school guide highlights the top prep and public schools in the UK; the selection process is entirely down to the Tatler - they can’t be swayed with expensive advertising!

‘Difficult to find!’ declared our researcher. But when you do get to the Croft, what a treat. It’s a gem of a prep school, free from airs and graces and full of character and quirks. Head Marcus Cook (‘very nice – and very tall,’ says a pupil) wants his pupils to be able to ‘work collaboratively and be articulate and confident’. Pupils stride on to the Warwickshire grammars, as well as Bromsgrove, Malvern and others – Mr Cook gives shrewd advice on whether children are up to the highly selective grammar-school exams. Lots of sport on the 32-acre site (no Astro); eight former pupils – representing their senior schools – played in the England Rugby Natwest Schools Cup final last year. Music is ‘absolutely amazing’, as is its head of department Mr Shortman, and there’s a large modern theatre. ‘I would recommend The Croft to anyone,’ says our insider.
