The Croft is delighted to appear in the Tatler Schools Guide 2017. Tatler selected 102 schools which they consider to be the top prep schools in the UK.
In their review Tatler wrote, ‘A motte-and bailey caste in the school grounds, a geology museum with over 2,000 exhibits and a train shed with a model railway……we’re delighted with this gently quirky, family-owned prep. Head Marcus Cook is a former professional rugby player, so it’s no surprise that the PE department is on the ball: the girls win regional netball and hockey tournaments and the boys came third in the U9 National Schools Ruby Tournament last year. With the RSC just down the road, drama is big and the ISI inspectors were bowled over by the ‘outstanding’ music, noting that ‘pupils demonstrate maturity in performance beyond their ages’. Most leavers head on to local day schools, with 114 scholarships in the past four years (squeezed middle, take note: lots of good secondaries and grammars in these parts).
