Reception classes visited Mary Arden’s House and Farm for a day of adventure and learning. The children loved using their clipboards to sketch the old buildings and jot down notes about the different things they did and saw – the old furniture, the wishing well, the pillows made of feathers and the chamber pots under the beds. They enjoyed watching dinner being cooked as it would have been over 400 years ago and meeting the pigs, cows and sheep.
The most exciting part of the day was seeing the owl display and discovering a beautiful playground full of sharing swings and wooden animals to sit on.
The Reception children can’t wait to go back again!
