Physical fun in Reception!

Exercise is a vital part of school life and is important for both body and mind. Physical development is a key area in The Early Years Curriculum, and in Reception, the children experience a broad variety of physical activities. The children have the opportunity to use their bodies in different ways; this may be from copying dance routines in "Move it, Move it" with Year 6 children, or  PE lessons using the apparatus in the Sports Hall, or Games sessions using a variety of sports equipment. In Reception, the children also use the climbing frames in both playgrounds and experience physical activity in Forest School.

Comments from some of RA about PE and Games:

Lewis B. "I like balancing because I like staying on."

George L."I like the jumpy things."

Chloe C-S."I like throwing the balls above my head."

Izzy S."I like climbing and jumping off the apparatus."

Sophia G. "I like playing with the bouncy balls."
