Little Crofters, our pre-school children, are delighted with their newly designed room and have been really busy exploring the different learning areas, both indoors and outside.
As Autumn approached, Little Crofters began investigating the changing weather. They enjoyed nature walks searching for signs of the change in season - collecting leaves, conkers, acorns, fruits, seeds and grasses. Back in the classroom they used a digital microscope to investigate the natural objects, and have explored counting and calculation concepts with conkers.
The natural materials provided many opportunities for creative expression as we printed, painted, drew, collaged and laminated a variety of natural materials. The feathers made interesting mark makers. Fruits collected were used to make a Blackberry and Apple Crumble which the children shared with their families.
Little Crofters is a very special place to learn. We are very proud of how quickly the children have taken ownership of their learning space. If you have not yet had an opportunity to visit Little Crofters, please come and see us!
