Pupils in Years 1 and 2 are enjoying the festive preparations for their forthcoming Christmas Plays on Wednesday 5 December.
Year 1 pupils have been diligently rehearsing their version of the traditional nativity play, interpreted from an alternative perspective. The children are really looking forward to performing ‘Donkey for Sale’, the story of Alfie, the lonely donkey, who is sold to Mary and Joseph. With lively tunes, boundless energy and a compassionate friendship theme, the performance is sure to be a resounding success!
‘Flipperty Flap’ is a warming tale of friendship and family, written especially for Year 2 by Mr Bixley, Head of Drama, with an original score composed by Dr Jones, Pre-Prep Music. Year 2 has worked incredibly hard rehearsing the story of a young penguin and his adventures northwards. Pupils have already learnt their lines, songs and blocking, and we eagerly await what promises to be an enchanting production.
RSC staff are helping Years 1 and 2 with lighting and prop design, so look out for fantastic surprises during their performances!
Good luck to Years 1 and 2, and keep up the great work!
