The Croft Preparatory School

ICT

Information and Communication Technology has become firmly entrenched in many aspects of everyday life, both at home and in the workplace. As ICT underpins today’s lifestyle, it is essential that all children gain the confidence and ability they need in this subject, whilst developing motivation and social skills.

All classrooms at The Croft are equipped with computers, and most enjoy the use of an interactive whiteboard, which plays an integral part of teaching and learning in all curriculum subjects. Touch screen computers and digital cameras are used extensively in Early Years. From Years 1 to 6, each class is allocated a time where children are taught discrete ICT, in a spacious new computer room. They learn to appreciate the relevance of ICT in our society, and see it as a tool for learning, communicating, finding information, and for controlling and understanding their environment.
