Class Organisation
Nursery
Children may enter Nursery the term following their second birthday. Mrs Sally Jones, Nursery and Wraparound Care Manager, ensures a smooth transition for children from home to School.
Nursery Plus
Children remain part of the Nursery until their Pre-School year. However, the term after children become three years old, some are ready for enhanced experiences. These children visit the Nursery Plus Room daily, where Miss Louise Livingstone enables exciting new experiences and challenges. Miss Livingstone is currently training for her Level 5 Early Years Foundation Degree.
Pre-Reception
Pre-Reception is the name we give to our Pre-School year classes. Children enter these in the September at the beginning of the Pre-School year. The classes are taught by qualified teachers – Mrs Jane Franklin, Mrs Nicola Dove and Miss Angela Thompson. An assistant with minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification is assigned to each class.
Reception
Children enter Reception in the September of statutory schooling. Classes are taught by qualified teachers – Miss Gemma Morris, Mrs Alison Webber/Mrs Lucy Dudley and Mrs Denise Austin. Each class is supported by a full-time assistant (or assistants) with appropriate Early Years qualifications.
Early Years Deputy Manager / Early Childhood Studies EYPS
Miss Morris has over seven years’ teaching experience of working with 0-5 year olds and updated her training with the Early Years Professional Status qualification in 2010. She also has responsibility for Special Education Needs in the Early Years, and is the Designated Person for Safeguarding in Early Years. She rôle-shares as a Reception Class Teacher.
