Design and Technology
Children are taught how to develop their own ideas, in order to solve a problem or meet a need.
Class Teachers in Pre-Prep and Early Years lay sound foundations through a range of exciting activities across the curriculum. In Prep’s Technology Room, with the support of specialist staff, children progress through a series of projects, which are often linked to other areas of the curriculum.
Children learn from a variety of techniques, and practise skills which enable them to design for a purpose, make prototypes and evaluate for suitability. They are constantly challenged to identify and find their own solutions to the problems they encounter. Emphasis is placed on the transition from dependency to independence.
