Admissions Policy

Introduction

The Owners and Headmistress of The Croft Preparatory School apply the
regulations for admission fairly and equally to all who wish to attend the
School.

This policy conforms to regulations set out in our Admissions Procedure,
dated November 2006.

Aims and Objectives

The Croft Preparatory School is an inclusive school that welcomes children
from all backgrounds and abilities.

The only restriction the School places on entry is that of number per class;
balance of boys and girls; total number on the School Role and availability in
Learning Support Department.

It is the School’s wish to place every child who applies for admission, but if
the number of children applying for entry exceeds the number of places
available, the School will apply the Waiting List Procedure, as detailed
below.

Admissions Procedure

Children are admitted from the age of 2 years.

Children may be admitted to the School during an academic year, and to any
year group, depending on availability.

Children above Reception age are required to attend the School for a
preliminary assessment.

An induction day is arranged for every child.

Medical Information is required.

Parents agree to abide by the School’s Terms and Conditions of Admission.

Parents agree to abide by the School’s Good Behaviour Policy.

If we are unable to offer a place immediately, we operate a Waiting List.

Waiting List Procedure

When demand for places exceeds availability, priority is given to siblings of
pupils currently attending the School. Applications are then considered in
date order.

The Standard Number

The standard number is the number of children the School can accommodate.

The standard number for our School is 450 Full Time Equivalent pupils.

We keep this under review, and the Owners and Headmistress will apply to
change the number if circumstances allow.
